How To Play Exploding Kittens

The object of the game is to avoid being blown up by drawing an Exploding Kitten card. The deck of 56 cards are set face down, and if you draw an Exploding Kitten face card without any “protective” cards in your hand to avoid the explosion, you’re dead and out of the game.

Defuse : Every Defuse card is able to eliminate an Exploding Kitten card when you play it. You want to collect as many of these as possible, and each player is dealt one at the start of each game.

Attack : You can use these to force other players to take two turns in a row, which heightens their chances of being blown up by an Exploding Kitten.

However, a player that gets attacked with an attack card can also be holding an attack card themselves, play it, and force the next player in line to take two turns and not them.

Skip : Skip cards allow you to pass your turn to the next player in line, thereby cancelling your chance of drawing an Exploding

Kitten.Favor : Playing this card forces your opponent to give you a card from their hand. Getting lucky by taking other people’s “firepower” is cool!

Shuffle : The shuffle card shuffles the deck, which is useful during times when See The Future cards are being frequently used by other players.

See The Future : With this card, you can take a look at the first 3 cards in the draw pile. But unless you can have cards in your hand to change the future, then don’t waste your See The Future cards. Example : Knowing there’s an Exploding Kitten 2 cards deep in the deck can give you the “See The Future” power to know when to use your Skip card if it’s going to come up during your turn.

Nope : This card can stop the action of any card that’s played against you. If someone attacks you to make you use two turns, a Nope card stops the attack.

Exploding Kitten : There’s 4 Exploding Kitten cards in the deck, and it can mean the death of any player that’s dealt one. Only a Defuse card can stop an Exploding Kitten in its tracks. After using your Defuse card to spare your life, you simply insert the Exploding Kitten card back into the active deck for replay.
